Americore Visited Again!

Our friends From Americore came again and we countinued to learn about the five senses! We went on a shape and color hunt for sight and tasted apples for taste. 
We also learned a song about our senses! Ask your child to sing it to you!

Turkey Trot!!

What a fun day today! Our preschool friends ran the turkey trot and were so proud of themselves! It was a fun day all around!

Being Thankful!

We met with our first grade buddies and talked about thanksgiving and what we are all thankful for! It was a very sweet experience to see the 4th graders helping our little ones.

I just wanted to remind you that tomorrow is neon day at school. Tuesday is mismatched outfit day. Wednesday is school color day, which is black yellow or BES apparel.I hope you can have some fun with this!

Kindergarten visits!

Our kindergarten neighbors across the hall visited and taught us a kindergarten chant that they have been working on. Our preschool friends were an amazing audience and asked great questions!

Games! Math! Colors! Fun!

Today we used a traffic light to play a bean bag toss game. Then which ever color the bag landed on, the child had to put that color block on another paper that matched the color. Then we counted the blocks and compared, seeing which color had more and less.

Special Visitor!



Today we were lucky enough to have Marie Bartlett visit us and read her book The Little Yellow Trolly Car to us! Children loved it and were able to ring a train bell. Marie lives in Leyden.

Kindness Club

Today the 6th grade Kindness Club came to our classroom so we could make a special surprise gift for another class. It was very sweet.

Trip to the park and fire station!

We walked to Cushman park to see all the scarecrows and also to visit the fire station to leant about fire safety. We had a blast!

Handwriting Without Tears

Today we started our handwriting in PreK. We used chalk, eraser boards, and sticks to write our letter A. The children loved it.

4th Grade Buddies!

We met with our buddies today and did a fun acorn project. We also taught the 4th graders our "I'm a Nut" song. Ask them to teach it to you!

Good bye butterflies!

Today we released our classroom butterflies! It was an amazing experience for both me and the kiddos! We used a yard stick, took them out of the cage and put them in a tree. The best part....one flew right away....healthy and happy to be free!!

Lava Monster!

On our last day with our Americorps volunteers, Aiden and Sarah, we played a rousing game of Lava Monster! Since then we have played several times at Extra Recess. Fun!

First Grade Readers
